No more feud, no more Britpop war. It seems that Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher have both mellowed with age and put their past behind them. The two men, rivals in the 90s following the Britpop Battle, gave each other friendly smiles and posed for a manly shoulder-squeeze for the camera when the Brit Awards 2013 ceremony took place on February 21st 2013 in London's O2 Arena.

Dressed in his signature leather jacket, the "legend of British music" Blur frontman made a short acceptance speech on stage. He praised the charity for having a "close relationship with the music business" and pleaded the audience to "get involved" with the charity's cause to alleviate and combat childhood suffering. The award marked War Child's 20th anniversary.
Damon was also nominated for Best Producer (Bobby Womack- 'Bravest Man In The Universe') in this year's award ceremony. Although a top favourite, he lost out to producer Paul Epworth whose productions included Adele, Florence and the Machine and Cee Lo Green.

Things to do While Waiting for Blur’s Concerts in 2013
Most of the upcoming Blur concerts of 2013 have already been announced through their official site as well as social media accounts. Blur members Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree are set to kick off their wave of concerts in Mexico on 16th of March during the Vive Latino Festival. It is just nearly a month away from today, which heightens fans' anticipation and excitement more. However, the more we count the days until we see Blur live, the longer they feel. That being said, here are some activities you can do while waiting for the gigs to start.
1. Prepare a personal concert kit
Going to a music festival like Coachella or a regular concert is no joke. As exciting as the event may be, it can be pretty exhausting at times due to unforeseen circumstances or camping troubles. To cope up with these problems, do prepare a concert kit for yourself. This may include water, Blur books, medicine, extra shirts, pens (to get the band's autograph) and money. Make sure to plan ahead and check the venue online for parking information beforehand. Don't bring expensive things as these are easily stolen or lost, especially in the jam-packed gig venue!

2. Find your concert buddy
For those who have attended concerts (whether it is Blur or other bands) in the past, the experience is definitely more fun and exciting when accompanied by a concert buddy or people you know. When looking for one, go for someone who is not ashamed of embracing the whole concert experience. For times where you cannot find existing friends that are willing to go, a good suggestion is to take advantage of the availability of the internet and connect with fellow Britpop fans.
Festivals aren't all about music, they're about creating bonds and togetherness too. They are a great way to find new friends and expand your horizons a little, so chat to the person next to you who is singing along or simply having a great time. Who knows, you might find your concert buddy in Twitter, Last FM or in social gaming sites like FoxyBingo. You can also try visiting sites like the Blur forums or even the band's Facebook page to connect with other music-lovers.
During a concert, it is inevitable for audience members to dance and sing their hearts out. A friend once told me before that people around him looked at him strangely after he sang the wrong lines while Blur were performing "Under the Westway" last year. So, spare yourself with this kind of experience by re-learning or memorizing their songs earlier before their 2013 gigs. While you’re at it, make sure to re-watch their music videos and sing along with the chorus.
4. Invest in a camera
If you do not own a camera, now is a pretty good time to invest in one for the festivals. Cameras don't have to be expensive to be able to shoot decent pictures or videos, and festivals are a perfect time for having fun, enjoying the scenery and capturing the moment. Blur gigs always contain memorable moments, and videos can make great memorabilia for a great gig. After all, this may be Blur's very last tour in a long time if they decide to call it a day after the year ends.

| Lucky fans meeting Damon Albarn after a gig |
- Pick the right festival - some are kids-friendly, some have massive crowds that block all movement. Some have special parking spaces or cater for the elderly / disabled particularly well. Make sure you do some research before buying tickets.
- Keep young children away from any hazards during the festival - electric cables and amps can cause harm.
- Don't lose sight of adults and kids alike - it's easy to get lost in the big crowds.
- Bring enough food and water - summer festivals are guaranteed get you sweaty!
- Relax - it's a music festival to be enjoyed, and not stressed over! Listen to the music, and bring earplugs if you are worried about the loud noise.

Blur confirmed for Taiwan Gig - World Tour 2013
Blur has been set to tour for another Asian date - Taipei, Taiwan, for their 2013 World Tour. This follows on from a string of Asian venues announced, including Japan and also the latest addition - Hong Kong - to the line of new gigs being revealed by the band.
Blur to play in Hong Kong - 2013
It has just been confirmed that Blur are going to head to Hong Kong, China to play a concert in May 6th 2013 (Monday) from 8pm - 11pm for a three-hour gig (including support).
The news came after heavy rumours that Blur are deciding on a date in China, around the time the band are heading to Japan to play in the Tokyo Rocks festival the following week.
Being a small city on the coasts of China, Hong Kong do not hosts large-scaled music festivals, hence this is the first time Blur has announced a non-festival gig. The one-time live concert will be held in the AsiaWorld Expo Arena, Chek Lap Kok, where bands such as Gorillaz have previously played.
For many Blur fans, this will be great news just in time for the Chinese New Year holidays.
Ticketing information will be announced shortly on www.hkticketing.com - stay tuned for updates. Update: You can purchase tickets HERE.

Review: Child of Lov - Heal (ft Damon Albarn)
Solo artist Child of Lov is a 25-year old musician from the Netherlands. The mysterious musician and self-proclaimed "warrior of funk" has not made much information about his music or biography available to the public. However he has managed to secure Blur's Damon Albarn to collaborate together for two tracks on his upcoming debut album this year.
Child of Lov's new album 'The Child of Lov' will be released in May 2013, and features Damon on tracks 'Heal' and 'One Day'. His funky and hip-hop style have caused critics to compare his music with those of Prince and Jai Paul.Other featured artists on Child of Lov's new release includes big names- DOOM and Thundercat.
'Heal', the first single from the album, features a funky and deep baseline that Damon Albarn composed. The track is idiosyncratic and portrays Child of Lov's own brand of electronica-funk, very much like the 80s soul / funk sound. The falsetto vocals and catchy guitar work compliment the song well and matches the tune's beat.
Damon Albarn's contribution is signifiant - The result is a ridiculously catchy, jumpy track which sounds not unlike a mixture of Gorillaz and Blur. Blur's experimental last album 'Think Tank' in 2003 also contains traces of heavy, catchy bass and synthesised vocals ('Crazy Beat') .
Visually, the music video is brilliant. It features children running and playing in a suburban town, complete with old-school antics like bizarre fashion, lots of sunshine, smashing up a bike, and funky dancing in rollerskating arcades. Overall, a successful and emotional artistic attempt - 3/5.
Double Six Records will release a limited edition 7-inch single of “Heal” on November 26th 2013. You can pre-order that 7-inch here.
Check out the video (directed by Focus Creeps, the company who created some Arctic Monkey music videos) and listen to the song below.
Damon Albarn's other collaboration feature on the album 'One Day' is currently not available online. Watch out for a review of the track once it's out.

| Looks like Blur's not playing this year's Reading or Leeds Festival |
Blur has been the subject of rumours and speculation about who is going to take the main stage at this year's Reading Festival 2013. The band was amongst the top favourites as to who would headline the mains stage this year, along with Black Sabbath and The Stone Roses. Blur were also strong contenders for another massive music festival in the UK - the Leeds Festival 2013.
The two "twin" festivals will take place on the bank holiday weekend, from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th August 2013. Reading Festival takes place at Little Johns Farm, Richfield Avenue, Reading, Berkshire, and Leeds Festival takes place at Bramham Park, Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Tickets for Reading go on sale on Friday 30th November. To buy tickets (priced: GBP 197.50 for the weekend) for Reading Festival from Seetickets - click here.
Tickets for Leeds Festival 2013 goes on sale at 9am on Friday 30th November 2012. It costs £197.50 for a weekend ticket and is available for a limited time until Monday 31st December 2012. Additional costs for a car park pass £5, with campervan passes costing £60, and lockers for £15.
Day tickets will be sold in the new year. Tickets can also be secured with a £50 deposit with the full balance paid by Sunday 31st March 2013.
There's still hope, however, for the Britpop legends this year.
There is still ONE headlining act to be confirmed for this year's Reading and Leeds festival. Could it be Blur ? The festivals are perhaps the best chance for Blur to play a UK date, with their European and World tour in full swing starting in March 2013. There has been a lack of dates in the UK - could there be a big surprise in store for Blur fans ?
