Damon Albarn has announced that making a new album with former Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher is a "distinct possibility" in future.

In a recent NME article, Albarn revealed that he and Gallagher have discussed the idea of making music together "at least once".

He said: "I still see Noel from time to time. We text a bit." When asked if the pair would be making a record together, he replied, "I can imagine that being a very distinct possibility at some point in the future. But, as yet we haven't really talked about it, although…"

Albarn further added that: "OK we have a little bit. We're talking. It's not anything to get excited about yet. I mean, he's doing his thing. He's finishing a new record. I've got my record coming out, but the principle of us making music together is something…you know, it would be fair to say, we have discussed it at least once."

Last year, the pair put two decades of Britpop rivalry behind them when they performed together at London's Royal Albert Hall for a charity Teenage Cancer Trust concert. Damon Albarn will release his debut solo album 'Everyday Robots' on April 28 2014.

Liam Gallagher slams 'Blurasis' , starts new Britpop War

Liam Gallagher of former band Oasis has criticised his brother for being a "snake in the grass"- for playing with Blur in 2013, sparking new controversy and a whole new, twenty-first century Britpop battle.

"Blurasis", the new term coined by a Blur fan who uploaded a performance from the Teenage Cancer Trust charity concert featuring both Blur and Noel Gallagher, has become the word associated with the budding relationship between the former Britpop enemies.

The singer compared Noel Gallagher's show at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday, 23rd March, where Noel sang 'Tender; with Blur's Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon, to "sipping champagne with war criminals". The show raised money for supporting the charity Teenage Cancer Trust.

Liam has taken to social platform Twitter to start the new war between the bands. Today the musician posted a tweet (dated March 25): "Don’t know what’s worse RKID sipping champagne with a war criminal or them backing vocals you’ve just done for BLUE!"

Perhaps what he was referring to when he mentioned "sipping champagne" in the tweet was brother Noel Gallagher attending a drink at the Number 10 with Tony Blair during the height of his Britpop fame, and the important 90s feud with Blur.

Hang on- did he call Blur "Blue" accidentally on purpose?

All Blur fans knew that Noel was the one who wished Damon Albarn would "catch aids and die" in the 1990s. Damon Albarn also exclaimed back in the Britpop battle of the bands: "I can't make up with Noel. Britpop would be over and heaven forbid that we'd ever admit we'd all grown up!". However, the two posed happily together in recent award shows and even played together in the historical concert this Saturday as part of Blur's new set of gigs.

Could this be another harsh attack on Blur? Another Britpop battle and feud?  It could be that the tweet was a direct attack on brother Noel. Liam Gallagher is known for tweeting about his brother's new projects ("High flying smurfs") and for making bold, public statements about other musicians.

Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher rekindle at the Brits 2013

No more feud, no more Britpop war. It seems that Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher have both mellowed with age and put their past behind them. The two men, rivals in the 90s following the Britpop Battle, gave each other friendly smiles and posed for a manly shoulder-squeeze for the camera when the Brit Awards 2013 ceremony took place on February 21st 2013 in London's O2 Arena.

Exclusive: The End of Blur and Oasis feud - Just in time for Christmas - 2011

So, the year 2011 marks the END OF THE BLUR/OASIS feud for decades. Noel Gallagher from Oasis and Damon Albarn from Blur, two frontmans who battled out their way to the Top of the Charts in the 90s BritPop period has ended their media feuds and public dramas, by celebrating with, in typical English fashion... a beer.
Quoting NME:
Noel Gallagher has revealed that he has finally made up with Damon Albarn after their spat during the height of Britpop in the mid-'90s.

The pair haven't spoken in over 15 years following the war of words between Blur andOasis which kicked off in 1995 when they went head-to-head in the UK's singles chart and the former beat the Manchester band to Number One with their hit 'Country House'.

But Gallagher, who is currently set to top the UK album chart with his debut solo album 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds', said they recently bumped into each other and went for a beer.

He told Shortlist magazine:
Funnily enough, when I was out last night, I bumped into him. I literally haven't seen the guy for 15 fucking years and I bump into him in some club. We both went, 'Hey! Fucking hell!' and then he said, 'Come on, let’s go for a beer.'

The ex-Oasis chief added: "So, we're sitting there, having a beer, just going, 'What the fuck was all that about 15 years ago? That was mental.' Then he said, 'It was a great time, though,' and I was like, 'Yeah, it was a fucking good laugh.'"
Here's just a little something down memory lane -

A tribute to the Battle of the Britpop- Blur VS Oasis Mega Chart Battle - 1995

Exciting feud between the two Britpop Superpowers - Blur and Oasis
Cover of the 12 August 1995 issue ofNME advertising the "British Heavyweight Championship" battle between Oasis and Blur

Spurred on by the media, the groups became engaged in what the NME dubbed on the cover of its 12 August issue the "British Heavyweight Championship" with the pending release of Oasis' single "Roll With It", and Blur's "Country House" on the same day.

The battle pitted the two bands against each other, with the conflict as much about British class and regional divisions as it was about music
The event caught the public's imagination and gained mass media attention in national newspapers, tabloids, and even the BBC News.

The NME wrote about the phenomeon, "Yes, in a week where news leaked that Saddam Hussein was preparing nuclear weapons, everyday folks were still getting slaughtered in Bosnia and Mike Tyson was making his comeback, tabloids and broadsheets alike went Britpop crazy.
Blur won the battle of the bands, selling 274,000 copies to Oasis' 216,000 - the songs charting at number one and number two respectively.
Both bands have parted ways now, looks like the war is FINALLY OVER. Peace to Britpop!

Perhaps this has come at a good time - Oasis split recently and Damon's embarked on more new and exciting projects like Dr. Dee's Opera and possible new African music, and Noel's just chilling out with his life away from the band. What a lovely story.
