Damon Albarn's New Solo Album Is Out

Damon Albarn's long-awaited solo album may just be the hottest thing in 2021, and it's finally out for pre-order today. The album, titled The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows, is finally available for fans to order before it's official launch on 21st November 2021.

The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows was originally not intended to be produced as an album, but as an orchestral piece inspired by the landscapes of Iceland. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Damon Albarn returned to Iceland where he found new musical inspiration and recorded this 10-track album which explores the themes of loss, fragility and emergence. The album is essentially a  story of Damon Albarn's journey with music, discovering Iceland and the loss of previous identities.

A new track, titled "Royal Morning Blue", was released today via Youtube and is available for streaming online. You can listen to it below.

Damon Albarn finally passes his driving test at 52

Damon Albarn has finally passed his driving test at age 52 after not learning to drive all of his life.

The Sun reported that Damon bought a £65,000 Range Rover as his first car. The Blur frontman, who has a fortune worth £10 million, decided to learn to drive to make it easier to get between his west London pad and his big house in the country in Devon.

His fancy new car goes from 0 to 60mph in eight seconds and has a top speed of 130mph – much speedier than most new drivers’ first set of wheels.

Damon spent most of the UK lockdown in an isolated farmhouse in South Devon which he bought in 1995 with his “ill-gotten gains from Parklife”.

He previously told a newspaper: “It was the first time I ever had any money and it was the first thing I ever bought. “Everyone’s been telling me I’ve been mad for years. Why did you buy this remote farmhouse in the middle of nowhere? But now everyone thinks I’m a genius.”

He used the extra free time during the pandemic to practise for his driving test having lost his licence 20 years ago and “never bothered” to get it back.

A friend of the singer, who is now 53, told the Mail on Sunday: “Damon loved his time in Devon during lockdown and would love to spend much more time there. “But getting there on public transport would be a nightmare, so he decided to take the plunge and finally learn to drive himself around.”

They added he had been practising his driving with his partner Suzi Winstanley,, the mother to their daughter Missy, 21.

Looks like Damon put his free time to good use!

The Oasis rocker has been in a feud with Damon Albarn since the 1990s but has reportedly made up with Albarn in recent years. He is also estranged from his brother Noel Gallagher after a fall out.

Asked by a fan if he would perform with the friends and collaborators for a million pounds, he said: "I don't do things for money".

Asked again, he said he would do it for free.

Despite the fact Liam would be willing to get on stage with his brother, he recently revealed to a fan that he "rarely" thinks of an Oasis reunion.

Liam previously discussed why he thinks the pair won't bury the hatchet and suggested it isn't because of him. "I think we're both the problem and the problem is that he thinks he's not the problem," he explained on The Jonathan Ross Show. "He thinks I’m both the problems. Whereas I’m just a problem. I’m half the problem, whereas I can’t be having him thinking I’m the full problem. "He needs to take on some of the problem. The minute he does that we'll move on... He needs to own his problem."

He added: "No, [I haven't spoken to him]. I don't think it's going to happen."
